4132 militants present in PAK approximately: Govt

Srinagar: Stating that the state government has no estimates about number of the militants present in Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK), the state home ministry has said that the approximate figures suggest that there are around 4132 ultras present in PAK and Pakistan. However, he said it is not known that how many militants out of 4132 are active.

The government has said that the Nepal route is not recognized one for the former militants to return to valley under surrender policy, chief minister said that Waga, Attari, Salamabad and Indira Gandhi International Airport are the recognized routes for the former militants willing to return valley.

According to the KNS correspondent, in a written response to a query posed by Panthers Party MLA Harsh Dev Singh stated that 268 people along with their families have returned to the state via Nepal from PAK and Pakistan. The state government said it has received 1171 applications so far on behalf of the prospective returnees who are willing to return from Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK) under its return and rehabilitation policy.
