Says PM Modi led gov committee to recognise, honour brave cops
Srinagar, Jan 26: The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir police personnel for bagging the highest number of 115 police medals for gallantry on this Republic Day.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Amit Shah on his official Twitter handle said that he salutes the bravery of Jammu and Kashmir police personnel.
“I congratulate all @JmuKmrPolice personnel on this momentous achievement and salute their bravery. PM Narendra Modi led central government stands committed to recognising and honouring our brave police personnel,” he Tweeted.
He also said that it the matter of pride of the entire nation that J&K police have won the largest share of 115 gallantry awards on this Republic Day.
“J&K Police has been the spearhead of India’s fight against terrorism. It is a matter of immense pride to the entire nation, that the @JmuKmrPolice has won the largest share, 115, of the gallantry awards today on Republic Day. This reflects their valour and commitment,” he said in another Tweet.
Notably, 115 Jammu and Kashmir police personnel were awarded Police Medal for Gallantry, while 15 were awarded Police Medals for Meritorious Service and 2 were awarded President’s Police Medal on the eve of Republic Day. (KNS)
