Covid-19 claims two more lives, 65 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Feb 11: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday reported two more deaths related to Covid-19 taking toll of deaths in J&K to 1,947 while as 65 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in the UT taking the tally of total positive cases to 125,117.

Of the exact number of 125,117 cases, 73,422 are from Kashmir and 51,695 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 65 new cases, 50 belong to Kashmir division while as 15 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 73,422 including 71,697 recoveries and 1,225 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,695 including 50,845 recoveries and 722 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 628 including 500 from Kashmir division and 128 from Jammu division.

With 40 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 122,542 which is 97.93 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 20 from Srinagar, 06 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 06 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 05 from Jammu division include 09 from Jammu, 06 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in last twenty four hours two person from Kashmir division who were tested positive for Covid-19 have died.

As per officials figures, 26,439 positive cases including 459 deaths and 25,756 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,142 including 175 deaths and 7,947 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,812 including 7,652 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Budgam, 5,773 including 5,635 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,668 including 96 deaths and 5,566 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,948 including 4,810 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,701 cases including 4,621 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,655 including 4,554 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,704 including 2,632 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,580 including 2,524 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,051 including 24,617 recoveries and 371 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,232 including 4,146 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,870 including 3,813 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,435 including 3,366 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,256 including 3,202 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,832 including 2,785 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,732 including 2,709 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,507 including 2,471 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,112 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,645 including 1,624 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,198,119 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,797 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 628 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,056,368 persons have completed surveillance period and 105,379 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,776,402 samples are available.

Out of 4,776,402 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,651,285 while as 125,117 have tested positive, among them 628 persons are active, 122,542 persons have recovered and 1,947 persons have died.
