Srinagar: Two persons were arrested by police in South Kashmir on Friday after a female complained against them allegedly for making objectionable remarks.
Reports informed KNS that after a complaint filed by a local woman the police station Mattan swung into action and arrested the duo. The case against them with the FIR number 45/2014 under section 294 and 506 RPC has been registered against them at the police station.
Reports added that the lady in her complaint had informed the police that the two persons namely Zaffarullah Sheikh and Abid Hussain Khan were passing the comments with the objectionable content to the lady from the last one year and were harassing her at large through such actions.
On the bases of the compliant, the police arrested the duo, slapping non- bail bale charges against them. However, sources informed KNS that the police is under tremendous pressure by some local panchayat members who demand the release of the accused.
