Govt forces put on high alert in Jammu and Kashmir

Fearing militant strikes in the valley, the government forces in Jammu and Kashmir have been put on a high alert, officials said here today.
The security grid is apprehending a spike in militant attacks in the state, particularly in the Valley, the officials said.

The forces have been asked to remain on a high alert and maintain vigil around sensitive security installations across the state in view of reports of fresh infiltration of militants in the Valley, they said.
Today morning, militants attacked a vehicle in which Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men were travelling in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. There was no report of any casualties on either side.
The forces claimed to have recovered three bags believed to be stuffed with improvised explosive devices or IEDs.
