Srinagar: JKLF Public awareness program asking people to keep away from Indian elections continued today and various JKLF leaders and activists visited tens of villages, towns and other important places of south and north Kashmir and apprised people of the bad effects and consequences of participating in Indian elections. Leaders and activists addressed people in many mosques and other places and also distributed pamphlets and other matter regarding the election boycott etc at many places.
The places visited by JKLF leaders and activists today included central Jamia Masjid Qazi Gund, Jamia Masjid Umer Qazi Gund, Jamia Masjid Banderpora Kanalwan Bijbehara, Jamia Masjid Pazalpora Bijbehara, Jamia Masjid Seer Hamadan Islamabad, Jamia Masjid Nogam Shahabad Verinagh, Jamia Masjid Quimoh Kulgam, Jamia Masjid Qadipora Islamabad, Jamia Masjid Mohalla Shaksaaz Islamabad, Astana Aaliya Syed sahib Islamabad( where election boycott related matter was distributed), Jamia Masjid Chatpora Pulwama, Jamai Masjid Ichgoz Pulwama, Jamia Masjid Zainpora Shupian , Jamia Masjid Gadool Kokernagh and many parts and mosques of Lal Chowk area in Srinagar..
While speaking to the people at various places JKLF speakers said that the main aim and objective of elections organized by India and held under Indian constitution is to prolong the slavery of Kashmiris, to legislate new tyrannical and oppressive laws against people of Jammu Kashmir and to subject Kashmiris to torture and repression .Therefore participation in these election In any name and cannot is actually enmity with Kashmir and Kashmiris. Leaders said that poison whether sweet or sour kills human beings so are the elections held under Indian constitution .These too are sugar coated poison that is used to weaken and finish our resistance and struggle for freedom .leaders aid that every nation safeguards its own interests and it is the duty of every Kashmiri to recognize and safeguard the interest of Kashmir .speakers said that participating in these is actually undermining the sacrifices rendered by our gallantry martyrs and every honorable Kashmiri should therefore refrain from such practice.
JKLF leaders said that elections held under Indian constitution and under the auspicious of India, though are contested under the slogans of prosperity, roads, water, electricity, good and corruption free governance, change and for addressing other day to day problems etc, but have always been used to malign, undermine and weaken the freedom struggle of Kashmiris. Indian and its puppets in Jammu Kashmir have always tried to befool the international community and annex these elections with the determination of future of people of Jammu Kashmir. Speakers said that these elections, assembly and parliament has always inflicted trouble on Kashmiris and the members elected to these assemblies and parliaments are only deputed to safeguard the interests of India and conceal the crimes of its forces and agencies.
Speakers said that the people who contest these elections and their masters in Delhi project the elections and votes as a vote for India and use this to malign and undermine the freedom movement for which our hundreds and thousands have sacrificed their lives till date.
Speakers appealed the people of Jammu Kashmir to show resilience, wisdom and magnanimity and not to get deceived by the slogans of oppressors and refrain from voting’s.
In addition to these public meetings pamphlets about the facts of these elections, its bad effects and repercussions etc were distributed among the people at various places in south and north Kashmir.
Meanwhile JKLF has condemned the attack on a Kashmiri trader Imtiyaz Ahmad Zargar who is working in Kharakpora west Bengal near IIT. JKLF has said that kashmiri traders and students are facing a lot of difficulties in Indian states and their lives are at stake. JKLF strongly condemns this state sponsored terrorism
