Khan arrested on way to Kunan Poshpora

Srinagar: Police today arrested National Front Chairman, and Hurriyat (JK) leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan at Trehgam, Kupwara when he was on way to Kunan Poshpora to address a public meeting.

According to a statement issued to KNS, the people of Trehgam, tried their best to avoid the arrest of Khan by resisting against the large contingent of police but the men in uniform took action against the peaceful protesters as well.  The people of Kunan Poshpora also raised their voice by protesting after Nimaz against not allowing Khan to reach the area.

However, Khan before his arrest at Trehgam while addressing the protesters asked Kashmiri masses to remember their present and past to construct a better future otherwise Kashmiris will lose their faith, civilization and the way of life.

Remembering the martyrs of 2010 Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that those pro-India politicians who pretend of being pro-people are directly involved in the killing of our innocent sons and they are responsible in strengthening the Indian occupation of Kashmir.

“Those so called politicians who nowadays issue statements to deceive people once again in the name of introspection, are in fact responsible for killing our brothers, looting honour and chastity of our daughters, filling the prisons, disappearing our eight thousand brothers and making an army of orphans and widows,” Khan said.

Khan said that Kashmiris will and cannot forgive the killers of 2008, 2009 and 2010 unless and until they openly announce their support to the freedom movement and shun the path of collaboration.

“Targeting and killing youth is and was aimed to give Kashmiri people such a pain so that they forget the demand of freedom,” Khan said. He added that thousands of injured people can also not be forgotten a considerable number of whom is living a merciful life of handicapped. “How can people forget those who showered pellets and bullets on our youth to disable them forever?”

Khan said that Kashmiris cannot afford to forget the martyrs who laid their lives only to free their homeland from the illegal and unconstitutional occupation of India. He said that the people of the district Kupwara are the first witnesses of what happened on the bloody Line of Control. “It is the people of Kupwara who buried thousands of unknown people in their areas and nobody knows who they were and why they were martyred,” Khan said adding “Let the whole world know that we are against India only because we demand for our political rights which India is denying to us on the gun point.”

Khan sought pledge from the people to strengthen the ongoing freedom movement. “It is very important that we must reject those pro-India politicians who come to us and shed crocodile tears only for their interests,” Khan said. Meanwhile, the spokesman of National Front strongly condemned the arresting of his chairman. He praised the courage and freedom sentiment of the people of Trehgam and Kunan Poshpora who raised their voice against the unjust police action.
