Mirwaiz pays tributes to Kashmir’s mothers

Srinagar: Honoring the mothers of Kashmir on the eve of World Mothers Day, Huriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday stated that the aim of the day would be fulfilled when the mothers of our society would impart proper moral, social and religious education to their sons and daughters thus contributing towards building a healthy society.

Mirwaiz in a statement issued to KNS asserted that the role of mothers in Kashmiri society was immense; Mirwaiz said the mothers were the builders of better society. He stated that due to unfavorable situation prevailing in Kashmir since past 25 years, Kashmiri mothers have suffered maximum. He said that sons of thousands of mothers were martyred, buried in unmarked graves, subjected to enforced disappearances. He said the mothers of disappeared persons are still longing day and night to see their sons.

While paying tribute to the mothers of the soil, Mirwaiz called upon the international community to utilize its influence on this auspicious mother’s day so as to end the miseries and sufferings of Kashmiri mothers.

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz condemned the arrest of youth in Bandipora, Sopore and Baramulla in the aftermath of the so called elections. He has also expressed his dismay over the use of force against the peaceful protesters and ransacking of houses in the said areas. He said that the government has been frustrated over the rejection of so called polls. He demanded the immediate release of all detainees.
