Omar addresses Election Rallies in Tanghdar, Gurez

Asks people to defeat communal, deceptive forces

‘NC-Congress alliance to strengthen communal harmony, sustain peace’

Tanghdar: Reiterating that Lok Sabha Election is for electing the Members of Parliament and the Prime Minister of the Country, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is also Working President of National Conference Wednesday said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have to make a clear choice between secular representatives of the NC-Congress Coalition led by Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi and communal and divisive forces represented by BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

“While victory of NC-Congress Coalition candidates from J&K would pave way for Rahul Gandhi to be the Prime Minister of India every vote cast in favour of PDP will automatically amount to helping Narendra Modi to be in power at New Delhi”, he said adding that people of Baramulla-Kupwara-Bandipora Parliamentary constituency have to rally behind the NC-Congress candidate Sharief-ud-Din Shariq to protect the secular and democratic fabric of the State and keep communal and anti-J&K forces at bay.

According to a statement issued to KNS, while addressing Election rallies in Tangdhar and Gurez today, Omar Abdullah said that an elaborate conspiracy has been hatched by BJP and PDP to divide the voters in the State on one or the other pretext for their vested interests and hunger for personal power. He cautioned the people against this conspiracy and told them to exhibit their unity and faith in NC-Congress alliance stating that the NC-Congress alliance is committed to the inclusive and equitable development of the State and has been working with dedication to usher the State into an era of reconciliation, peace and prosperity.

Omar Abdullah said that the PDP leadership was ‘hand-in-glove’ with BJP to help Narendra Modi to come to power despite his open anti-Jammu and Kashmir agenda and communal mindset. He said voting in favour of PDP candidate Muzaffar Hussain Beigh will be voting in favour of Narendra Modi while pressing the button of plough symbol of National Conference will amount to casting vote in favour of Rahul Gandhi who is an unquestionable friend and well-wisher of Jammu and Kashmir and its people.

Omar Abdullah appealed to NC-Congress workers to exhibit their unity at all levels from the grassroots and upwards to ensure overwhelming support to NC-Congress candidate in Baramulla-Kupwara Parliamentary constituency going to polls on the seventh of May.

Working President, National Conference said that the people of the State of Jammu and Kashmir have a greater responsibility to ensure the defeat of communal forces at the Centre and in the State so that the ages old communal harmony, mutual amity and brotherhood for which Jammu and Kashmir has earned a glorious name the world over is safeguarded.

“We cannot allow the secular ethos and history of the State to be disturbed by the conspiracy of communal and deceptive forces led by BJP in the Country and PDP in the State”, Omar Abdullah said and asked the people to rise to the occasion and foil all designs being hatched against Jammu and Kashmir, its special status and its people.

The Elections rallies were also addressed by NC-Congress Coalition Candidate for Baramulla-Kupwara-Bandipora Seat Sharif-ud-din Shariq, Senior NC Leaders Mian Altaf Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi, Kafil-ur-Rehman and A. R. Badana. (KNS)
