Oppressive measures in Kashmir Reflection of anti democratic attitude: Malik

Boycott Indian election and defeat the nefarious designs of enemies who want to divide us and defeat our freedom movement.: JKLF

Srinagar: JKLF leader Mir Siraj ud Din was today arrested along with Mohammad Jamal and Abdul Rehman Pahalwan when they were peacefully campaigning for election boycott in Yaal Baramullah. They were cordoned and arrested by army and have been shifted to some unknown place. Prior to this police arrested senior JKLF leader master Sheikh Mohammad Afzal along with Mohammad Shafi Lone in nocturnal raids at their houses in Trehgam Kupwara. Police has also arrested JKLF activists Mohammad Akbar Wani and Mohammad Sultan from Seer Sopore while as police and STF raided the residence of JKLF district president Bandipora Syed Nissar Jeelani at Hajan and have arrested his brother Ashiq Hussain Jeelani (a government employee) in his place. STF and forces also thrashed many people and ransacked many residential houses at Hajan after a peaceful protest against nocturnal raids and arrests.

Detained chairman Jammu Kashmir liberation front while condemning these arrests, raids and oppressive measures has said that this tyrannical attitude is being practiced in the name of so called democracy and this can be actually termed as ugly face of worst dictatorship and anti democratic behavior. Yasin sahib said that whole of Kashmir has been turned into a big prison and thousands of people are being subjected to torture. Condemning the mass arrests in Pulwama and imposing black law PSA on innocent young man Mohammad Waseem S/O Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Yasin Malik said that these atrocities are being committed as an act of revenge after the successful boycott campaign. He said that suppressing the voices of dissent by iron fist cannot be termed but as anti democracy and act dictatorial mind set. Yasin Malik said that these kinds of atrocities can never succeed in defeating a nation that is committed to keep striving for the cause of freedom and humanity.

Despite these barbaric measures, JKLF leaders continued their Public awareness program asking people to keep away from Indian elections throughout north Kashmir. leaders Noor Mohammad Kalwal, sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mushtaq Ahmad, Abdul Majeed Shah,Abdul Azaiz Lone and Ghulam Mohammad visited Dragmola,Muqam Shahwali,Shah Mohalla,Payeen Mohalla,and Faqeer Mohalla in Kupwra ,while as leaders Abdul Rashid Magloo, etc visited Kolen, Bandi Payeen, Watelgaam,Wagoora,Tethgam, Darhama and other areas of Baramullah,Professor Javed along with Farooq Ahmad, Fayaz Ahmad etc visited Margay Pora, Gohal Tengpora,Gulabwari,Lolipora,Andergam and Chanderhama in Pattan and appealed people to boycott Indian elections on 7th may 2014. Leaders while addressing various corner meetings and campaigning house to house also distributed pamphlets

Leaders while condemning the continued detention of resistance leaders and hundreds of youth across the valley said that These revengeful acts of state violence are an evidence of the defeat the rulers and their masters in Delhi have suffered at the hands of Kashmiri masses that through their exemplary boycott have shown to the whole world that Kashmiris only want freedom. Appealing people of north Kashmir to show resilience and passion and respect for the sacrifices, leaders appealed them to boycott Indian election and defeat the nefarious designs of enemies who want to divide us and defeat our freedom movement.

Meanwhile a peaceful protest sit in was held at Pulwama today against the spree of arrests and imposing PSA on innocent Mohammad Wassem .people from every walk of life , the relatives of arrested youth participated in the sit in along with JKLF district president Javed Ahmad Bhat and others. People protested against the spree of arrests and imposition of black laws on innocent boys and termed it as a shameful act.
