Pakistan opposes G-20 meetings in J&K

New Delhi: Pakistan has opposed India’s plans to hold some G-20 events in Kashmir in the run-up to hosting the summit in 2023. “Pakistan completely rejects any such attempt by India,” said the Pakistan Foreign Office while stating that J&K is an “internationally recognised disputed” territory.

“It is expected that in case of any such controversial proposal from India, the G20 members will be fully cognisant of the imperatives of law and justice and would reject it outright,” it said.

Pakistan also urged the international community to ask India to revoke its actions of August 5, 2019, and free all political prisoners. “The only way to lasting peace in South Asia is by granting the people of J&K their right to self-determination,” it added.
