RSS starts preparation for elections in J&K

Sangh cadre activated

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Tuesday started pre-poll deliberations to gear up its foot soldiers for vigorously campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming electoral battles.
To activate the cadre, top RSS leader Suresh Joshi, known as Bhaiyyaji Joshi, reached Jammu this morning. “Joshi, second in command in the RSS after Sarsangh Chalak Mohan Bhagwat along with Rupesh Kumar Prant Pracharak of Jammu and Kashmir, Parshotam Deedechi Seh-karvah (General Secretary) and Brig (Retd) Suchet Singh, Sangh Chalak, chaired a closed door meeting of top 120 RSS Pracharaks, who are active in different parts of the state including Kashmir to formulate strategy for the coming elections,” reliable sources told the Greater Kashmir.

“The meeting was followed by an interaction with RSS volunteers from Jammu urban wherein about 390 volunteers participated and were directed to remain prepared for any responsibility,” sources said adding, “Later over 100 representative of Seema Jan Kalyan Simiti, an offshoot of RSS, active in bordering towns from Kathua to Poonch called on Joshi,” sources said.
“Bhaiyyaji reiterated that there is a need to further increase organization’s activities in border areas for national security,” sources siad.
Later, top BJP leaders led by union minister and member parliament Dr. Jitendra Singh, member parliament Jugal Kishore, member parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, Speaker Dr. Nirmal Singh, State President Ravinder Raina and General Secretary Organization Ashok Kaul, former MLAs Kavinder Gupta and Sunil Sharma called on Bhaiyaji Joshi.
Sources present in meeting said that BJP leadership discussed its roadmap for polls with over 40 representatives of all sister organizations of RSS.
Joshi is on two-day visit to Jammu and is scheduled to hold interactions and close door meetings with representatives of about 50 offshoots of the Sangh to convince them to campaign for BJP in the coming elections.
“On second day he will chair special meetings with representatives from Kashmir and Ladakh,” sources said.
The visit of Joshi is significant because he had met BJP national president Amit Shah in Delhi on December 20 to devise a strategy for the Lok Sabha elections.
