Situation under control, will ensure everyone feels safe in Kashmir, says Advisor Bhatnagar

Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Thursday said the situation was under control in Kashmir.

His statement comes days after a youth BJP leader along with his father and brother was killed in Bandipora. Several party leaders and workers have resigned from the BJP and a party leader was also abducted in north Kashmir.

“Situation is well managed in the valley and the security scenario is under-control. Intelligence agencies are working well and we are reviewing the things after getting intelligence inputs,” he told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

He said police on Wednesday also managed the safe return of the abducted political leader in north Kashmir.

“It was possible because of outstanding professionalism shown by J&K police,” he said.
Bhatnagar said that they were working to ensure that every individual feels “safe and secure” in the valley.

“If any political leader is facing any sort of security threat we are trying to address his problem as soon as possible,” the Advisor said.
He also said police and other security agencies are doing commendable job by conducting “successful” operations against militants and maintaining law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

On COVID-19 situation in the UT, he said the administration was closely monitoring the situation and taking appropriate steps as per situation demands.

He also praised doctors and other frontline workers who are working to combat COVID-19 pandemic in J&K.

Further, he stressed upon strictly adhering SOPs and health advisory issued by the administration to combat COVID-19 pandemic.(KINS)
