SMC’s special drive at Khir Bhawani temple 

Srinagar: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) had made special arrangement on the occasion of mela Khir Bhawani in Ganderbal’s Tulmula area to ensure visiting devotees face no hassle.

According to a statement issued to KNS, secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Mr. Satish Nehru, on Friday was accompanied by SMC commissioner Dr G N Qasba to pay a visit to the Khir Bhawani temple.

On the directions of the SMC commissioner, special measures were undertaken to maintain cleanliness of the temple premises and its surroundings.

Thirty sanitary supervisors were assigned to oversee the cleanliness drive and lifting of garbage. The SMC had put into service two hoppers, two compactors and a mobile composite van to dispose of the garbage swiftly. The SMC workers were quick to pick up littered things.

The swift service was meant to ensure that visiting devotees do not face any unhygienic conditions or any hassle in terms of cleanliness. SMC’s chief sanitary officer Manzoor Ahmad Turray supervised the SMC’s special drive and carried out necessary orders on the ground to keep the place clean.
