Winter vacation in Valley schools from Dec 17

Srinagar: After a long summer break, the state government has decided to close schools up to Class VIII for a winter vacation from December 17.“Winter vacation up to Class VIII have been decided from December 17 because in these cold conditions, it is difficult for students to attend school,” said Director, School Education, Kashmir, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat. The official said for higher classes, a decision to have the winter vacation would be taken after December 26.Following the death of Burhan Wani, schools in the Valley are lying shut since July. They opened for the first time on November 20.“The students can think about tuitions now and can also hold remedial classes where they can come according to their convenience to compensate the losses,” said chairman of the Private Schools Association Kashmir, GN War.
