Srinagar, Jan 29: After Deputy Mayor’s Shiekh Mohammad Imran’s intervention PUBG banned in Jammu and Kashmir. He said it is the welcome step and these types of games indulge our youth into metal distraction.

Earlier on Jan 19, Imran met Governor Satya Pal Malik and appealed him to intervene in the matter. He urged him ban PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, popularly called PUBG game with immediate effect.

Imran in a Late Night Press Statement To Media said the mobile game is very addictive especially when it comes to teenagers, going as far as comparing the game to a drug. The game has resulted in students performing poorly in the recently conducted class X and XII board exams, he said.

“Our youth are our future and we will not allow such things in our society which would affect their mental health,” Imran said.

“Looking at the negative effects of the game, we had recently sent a letter to the state government recommending a ban on the game,” he said.

“The ban was essential as children were getting addicted to the game and it was “adversely affecting their studies” and it PUBG has an adverse effect on young minds,” Imran said.
