DAK hails services of GB Pant doctors

Srinagar: In a meeting of doctors association Kashmir (DAK) chaired by president Dr Nissar-ul-Hassan, at government medical college Srinagar many issues relating to patient care and difficulties faced by doctors were discussed in detail.
According to a statement issued to KNS, doctors came down heavily on the successive governments for the failure to upgrade health system in the state. “It is overall very difficult for doctors to work in primitive and vulnerable conditions in hospitals. There is dire need to develop newer model of health care system as now a day’s clinical skills are not sufficient unless synergized by the use of modern hi-tech technology to provide evidence based care to poor people.”
The statement said that they showed concern that the primary health care system is nonexistent in Kashmir and underscored the need for its introduction on priority. It is only primary health care system which will provide timely treatment to patients and reduce ever growing rush to central hospitals.  There is immediate need to start Baramulla medical college and Anantnag medical college to give quality care at door step.
DAK showed satisfaction over the multidimensional, holistic development in GB Pant hospital in general and resident doctors in particular. Dr Nissar praised resident doctors of hospital for their day night hard efforts to serve humanity in difficult conditions. Though our doctors are not getting good facilities’, incentives, congenial environment to work, they work only to please their conscience. I congratulate those doctors who have dedicated their life to serve humanity and many times donate blood for patients Dr Nissar added.
At the same time people of Kashmir have to understand that doctors are not faith healers. They have to understand the system and urge people to acknowledge the services rendered by doctors in abnormally abnormal conditions. Dr Naik Pediatrician spokesperson DAK said that there is a palpable change in GB Pant hospital. Expansion of hospital in to neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, high dependency units has refined patient care and management.
“Up gradation of different facilities at hospital like radiology, microbiology, biochemistry is helping doctors to address patient problems promptly with standard treatment protocols of hospital. DAK urges doctors and paramedics of the valley to work with dedication and sincerity so that the age old bond between patients and doctors is cemented.” (KNS)
