Srinagar: The chairman of United Jihad Council (UJC) Syed Salahuddin on Saturday paid rich tributes to militants who were killed during an encounter in South Kashmir’s Karewa area in Shopian district.

Chairing a special meeting of Hizb Command Council, Salahuddin, who is also supreme commander of Hizb, said, “The martyrs: Abdu-Haq Malik alias Hum of Aarwani, Mohammad Asif Wani alias Muzamil of Drubgam and Shabir Ahmad alias Arsalan of Rangwar, have laid down their lives for Islam and the freedom of their motherland”.

“The way (militants) are confronting forces, India should realize (militants) and people of Kashmir will not give up their struggle till the dawn of freedom, the statement said.

In an emergency meeting, Salah-ud-Din also praised the sacrifices offered by the family of District President of Jammat for Kulgam, Qari Ghulam Hassan Malik and said their sacrifices should be an inspiration for the people of Kashmir.

Salah-ud-Din, according to a spokesman of the Hizb, said, “Both the freedom fighters fought bravely with the armed forces and embraced martyrdom. The martyrdom of these freedom fighters amply demonstrates the fact that every Mujahid of Hizb is committed to Kashmir cause and is ready to sacrifice their precious lives to achieve the noble cause.”
